How to Use a Dildo: A Video Tutorial

Hey, everybody. It's Carolyn from Betty's. And today we're gonna talk about how to use a dildo.

Now I have my handy props with me. This is the Dulce, and this is the Primo: theyr're from Uberrime. And I'm gonna use these as kind of my props on getting us started.

So congratulations. You have bought your first dildo. Now it's arrived and you think, what do I do with this thing? Okay, let's get you started.

So the first thing you're gonna wanna do when you get it, take it out of the box and clean it. You can use hot water with antibacterial soap. You can use a toy cleaner. I particularly like this one by Intimate Earth. It has teatree oil in it, and it foams. So what you would do is you're gonna spray that on, see, that's just a little bit, and then you're gonna give it like a good swabbing down and then you're gonna wipe it off.

Or like I said, you can put it under the tap or if you wanna be super safe, really great quality, silicone dildos like this, you can actually put them in boiling water and make sure they're completely disinfected.

Okay. That's the very first thing that you want to do. Now, the second thing that you wanna do is get yourself a really good lubricant, especially if you're a bit nervous using something for the first time. Here's one that I really like. It's the Wicked Simply Hybrid lubricant, and the reason that I really like it is because it's super thick, see that, and it's gonna stay where you put it. Hybrid means it has a tiny touch of silicone in it. It's still safe for silicone toys, but it's gonna be really thick. It's not gonna glue all over the place and it's gonna give you a really nice lube for the first time using your dildo.

Now, the other thing I'm gonna use another prop here. This is a seven-inch Colours vibrating dildo, because some dildos have vibration. So before you use it after you've cleaned it, if you have something with some vibration, figure out where your buttons are, cause you don't wanna be groping around when you can't see what you're doing and not know how to turn it on and off.

So there's the button on this one. So then you're good to go. Now, what you're gonna wanna do is use it gently and slowly. Now you might be using it vaginally. You might be using it anally. These dildos that I've shown you, all of these are great for anal play because they have this super flared base on them. Okay? Now, anything that is just straight down, that is a no-no for anal play. So if you've gone and gotten yourself a dildo that doesn't have a flare or some testicles, cuz those also work as stoppers, then you haven't been watching my other videos because that is not safe.

So if you want some anal play, you're gonna have to have a flared base or something with testicles because the rectum can pull in an amazing length of toy. So you don't want that to happen. No trips to the ER.

Now the next thing you're gonna wanna do is get into a really comfortable position. So if you're using this vaginally, you might wanna be lying on your back, and you can hold it in your hand. If you are using it anally, maybe you wanna be on your hands and knees, or you can be on your back, whatever lets you reach kind of the easiest. If you have something like all the ones that I've shown you that have a really great suction cup, then you could experiment. Maybe you can try putting against the wall or on a chair, but for your first time, I think you want a lot of lube and you wanna go really kind of slowly and carefully.

This dildo is actually really great. The Uberrime Dulce like I showed you, and the Primo, are  really flexible. And I really like that for a first time player, because it's got that squish and that bend, that's gonna make it really comfortable so you can experiment, right? You don't need to insert it the first time you play with it, you can use it externally and kind of, you know, touch it to your body and see what feels good. You can use it orally as well.

Get familiar and comfortable with it. There's nothing that says that you have to insert the dildo the minute that you get it. Once you have that level of comfort, you can just go slowly and see what feels comfortable for you.

If you cannot achieve comfort when inserting your DDdildoO, it means that you've bought something that's too big and it's unfortunate.

It happens. There's nothing wrong with you. Everybody has a different level of comfort when it comes to what they can fit comfortably in their bodies. So you might wanna kind of go back to the drawing board, think of something smaller. You can always contact us here at Betty's and we can help you find something that's gonna work better for you.

Now, the last thing that you're gonna do after you're done using your dildo is you are going to clean it thoroughly every single time. Okay? So again, you're gonna get out your spray or you're gonna take it and run it under the water. You can't just toss it in the drawer, even though it's silicone and bacteria won't permeate, it's still gonna be on the surface. I like this green tea, Intimate Earth spray because it can get off all kinds of lubricants and bodily fluids and makes everything squeaky clean. It's also pretty gentle for the next time that you wanna use it yourself.

Now, if you wanna give it a deep clean, use the soap and water or boil it. But you know, if you're doing just like a quick clean, then toy cleaner should get you through.

So there you go. First time using a dildo, take it slow. Don't pressure yourself, just have fun. You were interested enough to buy it.
